ABA Therapy is the preferred method of intervention for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Autism spectrum disorder, also called ASD, is the name used for a specific set of behavioral and developmental problems and the challenges that go with them. A diagnosis of ASD means that the child’s cognitive skills, communication, social-emotional abilities, physical development and adaptive behavior may be affected to some/varying degree. In ASD, every child is unique and has his/her own combination of characteristics, which combine to give him/her a distinct social communication and behavior profile.
Our professionals are trained in early childhood physical, emotional and psychological development, the nature or expression of developmental challenges and changes, and the impact of environmental experiences on children’s abilities/progress.
We employ a systematic application of interventions to increase socially significant behaviors and reduce barrier behaviors that impede individuals’ ability to learn.
We work with Speech Therapists to improve functional communication so that our learners can actively participate in interactions with parents and caregivers; to express needs, wants, feelings and emotions; and to understand and process language, through accomplished verbal skills, or through assistive technology.
